How It Works
WakeTutors.com is the ONLY site that allows you to choose a carefully selected, pre-screened tutor and schedule and pay for tutoring sessions that fit
your schedule instantly.
The process for scheduling a tutoring session is simple (follow these five easy steps):
STEP 1: Register for an account with WakeTutors.com (registration is free and with no obligation).
• Enter your demographic information (name, address, phone, etc.)
• Enter the geographic area of the county you live in (this is necessary so that you can see the tutors that service your area), the subject(s) you need tutoring in (this is necessary to see the tutors qualified to teach those subjects), and the school your student attends (as per WCPSS policy, your student cannot receive tutoring from a teacher at the same school they attend).
• After submitting your information, an activation key will be sent to your email. Use that activation key to complete your registration. Once your account is activated, you can login anytime by entering your username and password into the Login box.
STEP 2: Find a tutor!
• From the menu bar at the top of the page, click on “Find a Tutor!” From this page, browse our tutors by location, read their bios, and see who tutors in the subject area you need.
• To schedule a tutoring session, click on “View Tutor Availability”. This will take you to a calendar page that shows tutoring session that are available to be scheduled. Click on the tutor’s username to view details about the session, including time available.
• Tutoring sessions are automatically scheduled and billed for 1 hour time slots. If a tutor’s availability shows more than 1 hour (ie: Start time: 2:00pm End time: 5:00pm) you will have the ability to choose the start time of the session.
STEP 3: Schedule a tutoring session!
• Once you find a tutor whose availability fits your own, you’re ready to schedule the session! If you are in the calendar view, click on the tutor’s username to show the session details. Choose the Subject you want the tutor to address and the time that you want the session to begin. Type in any additional information (parent name, special instructions or requests) in the notes box. Then click “Schedule Now”!
• Confirm the information, then choose to either schedule more tutoring sessions OR checkout to pay for your sessions.
STEP 4: Pay for your tutoring session(s)
• Carefully read the terms of service before clicking to pay.
• Use PayPal to securely pay for tutoring sessions, or call us to pay over the phone.
STEP 5: Meet your tutor!
• You will receive email confirmation of your scheduled tutoring session. In addition, the tutor you have scheduled will contact you by phone or email before the tutoring session in order to introduce him/herself and get some background information about your child.
• You will receive a link to an evaluation form after your first tutoring session. Please fill out this evaluation, as it provides us with valuable feedback about our tutors and our company.
